What is the Napkin Competition?
Some of the best entrepreneurial ideas are born in cafes, living rooms and garages on napkins, scraps of paper and notepads. The founders of Southwest Airlines, Rollin King and Herb Kelleher were in a local bar when the simple idea behind the airline’s low cost strategy was first conceived on the back of a cocktail napkin. The idea for popular board game Cranium was born on the back of an airplane napkin and like many small startups with unique beginnings, the original Compaq PC was first sketched out on a placemat by the founders while dining in a local restaurant.
From the humble napkin, these entrepreneurs took their ideas and grew them into multi-million dollar businesses. The Napkin Competition invites you to present your own ideas, however simple or wacky. This could be YOUR first step in realising your ideas.

The Napkin Competition is an initiative of Student Entrepreneurs | Agents of Change, a student-run organisation based at the University of Melbourne, in partnership with other organisations committed to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation on university campuses in Australia.
The competition will be open for submissions from the 3rd of March until the 7th of April.
